What It's About
Monday morning at the citizens' office of a small town. The phone rings non-stop: When is bulky waste collected? How do I register my dog? Is there still an appointment for a passport? Two staff members answer the same questions over and over while applications pile up on the desk. With Charly, these routine requests run automatically, and the team has time for the cases that really need a person.
Charly is where we start: an AI assistant for phone, chat and the workplace in municipalities and districts. Our ambition goes further. We bring AI into the many areas of public administration where time is lost to routine today, from citizen services to specialist departments to internal processes. We are growing very fast, and to keep our sales up to speed, we need someone who sees go-to-market as an engineering problem. If you are looking for a job with real impact, we are looking for you.
Who We Are
Zaitgeist Innovation Group is a GovTech startup based in Berlin-Mitte. We are a fast-growing team led by founders with backgrounds at the UN, in research and in several previous startups. There are no layers of hierarchy between you and the decisions. You work directly with the CEO and the sales team, and what you build goes straight into day-to-day sales.
Why this role now? We have more municipalities in view than we can approach today. Every hour your workflows save the sales team turns into a conversation with an administration that needs Charly.
Your Role
You build, sales scales.
You build and automate our go-to-market processes, from lead research through enrichment and scoring to personalised outreach.
You develop AI workflows and agents that research municipalities, find the right occasions for a conversation and prepare outreach.
You connect our tools, from CRM to Notion and Slack to LinkedIn outreach, into processes that save the sales team hours every day.
You build data pipelines and dashboards so we can see what works in sales.
You test fast, measure cleanly and keep improving. What works, we scale together.
You work closely with the CEO and our account executives and learn how selling to municipalities works.
What You Bring
A builder mindset. A drive for impact.
You are enrolled at a university, for example in computer science, business informatics, data science or business with a tech focus.
You have already built something: scripts, automations or your own projects. Python or JavaScript, APIs and tools like n8n, Make or Zapier are familiar to you.
You work with LLMs every day and want to use them to build workflows that actually run in practice.
You think in outcomes: for you, a workflow is done when it helps sales, not when the code runs.
You work independently and in a structured way, and you learn fast.
You speak fluent German.
Don't tick every box?
Apply anyway. Attitude and learning curve matter more to us than a perfect CV.
What You Get
Real responsibility in a team that is growing fast.
Impact you can see: every workflow you build brings Charly to new town halls faster and takes load off administrations that reach thousands of citizens.
Responsibility from day one: your own projects instead of support work. What you build, the sales team uses the next day.
AI-native work environment: for us, AI is not just the product but part of every workflow, sales included.
Steep learning curve: steep growth opportunities in a fast-growing team, working directly alongside the founders.
Flexible alongside your studies: working student contract with 15–20 hours per week, planned around lectures and exams.
Right in the middle of Berlin: our office at Rosenthaler Platz.
How the Process Works
01
Short introductory call (30 min.)
02
